Peter is a self-taught photographer residing in Sweden. His understanding of art and its interpretation is clearly reflected in his pictures. This aspect is often visible in his nature scenes when he highlights through his art the beauty created by nature. Then again one notices this in combinations of the natural environment and the influence that people have on it. So his landscapes interact with human-made things such as bridges and buildings, for example.  For Peter, it is not about the conventional idea of beauty.  In his pictures he rather tries to show the attractive and sometimes superior force of nature. He presents his own view of things and his unique observations. This makes his pictures unusual. Strong contrasts, the play of light and shadow, the inclusion of elements such as storms, fog, etc., bring excitement into the picture, sometimes something providing something mystical and mysterious. One secret of his pictures lies in the fact that Peter prepares himself, spending time in the countryside, getting to know it, and waits for the right moments. So it is not surprising that snapshots are not his style, but can be useful to make the self-imposed perfection of these works possible.

“I think that personal interpretation in art is essential. The infinite possible perspectives, the countless ways of interpretation in art, can lead to such abstractions that most things seem to lose their meaning. However, certain aspects at the base of our consciousness which survive chaos, permit non-linguistic communication and understanding.”
