James is a full-time lawyer from Hong Kong and also an avid photographer in his spare time. Since he got his first DSLR in 2008, he was immediately excited by the possibilities. There are the tiny details of life that often go unnoticed and in the everyday stress often escape our attention that James tries to capture in his paintings. He succeeds in this in surprising and fascinating ways. For James, the road is a place where he meets the strange and anonymous in their most natural and most honest moments, where he captures the emotions and actions of everyday people and things with his camera and in this way snatches them out of anonymity for a moment. For him there is always a story behind every photo of the street, it’s up to the photographer to discover this and interpret it to capture it forever in a picture. The special feature of his pictures is that he gives them a cinematic style, which reinforces the message and expression even more. And James understands better than most how to utilize these style-tools in photography. It is not for nothing that his pictures are counted among the best examples of Cinematic Photography. His talent has not gone unnoticed; he was contracted by Hollywood film director Antony Hoffman to work with him in three high-profile TV spots in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Qinghai, and a fourth opportunity emerged in working with actor Andy Lau. It should be mentioned at this point that he also excels in other areas of photography work, sometimes as a Wedding Photographer or in Music & Sports and Baby Photography.
