Could you please tell us something about yourself?
I was born and live in Merano in northern Italy. I have a job that has nothing to do with photography, I like to keep these two separate aspects.

Can you briefly tell us about your photographic background?
When did you start taking photographs, how did you start? I began photographing with passion in 2006 after a disappointment in love. My preparation is totally self-taught.

What photographic style do you prefer?
Would you like to specialize in a specific area, such as street photography or portrait / landscape photography?Landscape photography is my favorite genre, the contact with nature is too important to me. However, I also like the portrait I like to observe people’s faces and imagine their lives

Can you tell us how your work flows from the moment you get the idea to the stage of final presentation?
I begin by studying the location on google maps and looking more photos to understand the potential. On the spot I try to capture the best light and create an interesting composition using all my equipment. I develop the pictures to computer keeping its natural characteristics, I use moderately post-production, the photo you have to get on the field.

Could you possibly provide a tip to the amazing landscape photograph style, how much the pictures are processed afterwards, and what else one should take into consideration?
I believe that when it comes to photography, post production should be minimal and tasteful, all the tools you have available today are powerful but should be used sparingly.

In your opinion, what constitutes the art of producing extraordinary landscape photographs, and what are the characteristics of a good picture in this field?
I think that a good landscape shots it should convey the beauty of nature that often escapes at the distracted eyes of the people. There are many elements that come into play; Light, composition, weather conditions, shooting techniques …

What equipment do you use and what are your favorite focal lengths?
I use a Canon Full Frame SLR with lenses from 14mm to 400mm. Lee NDG filters,polarizer, tripod and other small useful accessories.

What characterizes your work in comparison to other landscape photographers?
I think to stand out in the composition and natural rendering of my images.

Were there interesting incidents in your photo shoots, whether funny, embarrassing or sad?
Luckily nothing irremediable but once I dropped the camera in a puddle of water I pulled it out after a second but no longer worked.

What are the most important experiences you had during your photographic career?
The photograph introduced me to wonderful people from whom I have learned a lot and of which I became friends.

What advice would you give to a newbie for his/her photographic career?
Never stop studying and watch what others are doing, we live in times where technological progress and diffusion of the images are very fast, if you want to succeed you have to stay up to date.

Were you inspired by other photographers, and if so, which ones?
Yes, of course I am inspired by a lot of good landscape photographers, including all Galen Rowell and Joe Cornish.

Do you have a dream for photography that you would like to fulfill?
I’d like to continue shooting the way I like and what I like making it a full time job but I know that is impossible.

Would you like to tell us about something that is important to you?
I think it important transmits with my photographs on respect for nature, sensitize people to the beauty should make them more aware of the assets they have available.
