Mandy is a photographer living in Ramsey, Cambridgeshire (England). In April of 2010 she was awarded Winner of the Plant Portrait category of The International Garden Photographer of the Year 2010. Her work has appeared in Digital Camera Magazine and Digital SLR Photography. She has also written an article about texturing images for Digital Camera Magazine.
Mandy is a self-taught photographer. She plays around with sharpness, colour and contrast to create images that are hidden to us when we wander through the countryside ourselves. This also stems from the fact that her passion lies in macro photography. And she acts this out to perfection, with exceptional attention to detail, captivating, mesmerising and stunning the viewer time after time. She has many layers of talent; as well as the macro images, a special kind of still life also develops. Flowers play an important role in this. She works with textures in her images without overdoing it or placing too much emphasis on them; they are rather a means to an end, intended to accentuate the theme. Everything fits together perfectly, turning her images into something special, something unique.
Thanks go to Mandy for letting us talk about her work here. Further information and photos can be found on her website or her portfolio on 500px and 1x with the links below:
