About this site

S eeing is one of our most important senses. It enables us to grasp the world around us visually and understand it better. And yet, seeing is more than that, it is the source of inspiration, it lets us recognize and discover the world around us; oftentimes it is only through seeing that imagination and understanding are awakened.
A photo is the medium which captures the moment of seeing so it can serve as a memory for us and make it tangible for others, to enable them to share what we see. Therefore, photos are always something personal and some of them are real treasures. They are sources of inspiration, of motivation, they allow us to dream and lead us into a world we can thus take hold of and experience. On this website, I have collected photographers and their works that inspire me, touch me, and also amaze me. When I first started to design this page, I chose my favorites, works which I had been watching for a while and which I have been admiring. However, then I added photographers who implement in their pictures exactly those characteristics I have described above. Interestingly, I have discovered that there is, for me, in any case, no set style or hierarchy as far as popularity is concerned. First and foremost, the pictures must affect me in some way, inspire me and give me the motivation and a way to approach my own journey in photography and in doing so, also leave the well-trodden paths. Amidst the myriad of insignificant digital images we are inundated with, these photos stand out – quite often they are works of art that grant us an insight into the emotional world of the photographer and therefore render them a very personal experience. Other times they are simply wonderful, fleeting moments where everything happens to fit into place perfectly, whether it is motive, light, or location. If the skill of the photographer is added to this, the creation of pictures, like the ones shown here, is the result. It is interesting that it is not absolutely necessary to be professionally trained, rather it is experience and, most importantly, the talent to convert the moment into a picture, to express one’s frame of mind through a picture. And that is exactly what makes them different from the insignificant image which we forget as soon as we see it. I would be thrilled if you also liked these pictures and if they triggered similar feelings when you look at them. At this point I would like to share a piece of advice, one of the best I have ever received. Do not get caught up with unimportant technical problems and questions, like what exposure to use to photograph a certain thing, just take the photo, simply start experimenting, try a thing or two. It is only then that you will be free from constraints and limitations and able to develop your own style, to be distinct and stand out from the masses. And now, I hope you have fun looking at the photos and photographers which are introduced here.
