Steffen Böttcher, besser bekannt als “Stilpirat”, hat sein drittes Buch veröffentlich. Ein Reisebericht über seinen Vietnam Trip zum Anfang des Jahres. Nachdem ich bereits Teile davon auf seinen Blog gelesen habe, brauchte ich natürlich nicht lange zu überlegen und habe es sofort bestellt. Und es überzeugt auf der ganzen Strecke. Was ist nun an diesem Buch anders und was macht es zu einem wahren Fotobuch (falls man es so nennen darf, Fotobildband mit Reisebeschreibung trifft es besser)?
C hristopher Schlaf is a nature photographer from the US. His images encapsulate such serenity and brilliance that they never fail to impress. He has the gift of being in the right place at the right time, and more importantly of triggering the camera at the crucial moment. As he so nicely puts it, light, perspective and the aperture are the most important things he looks out for in his photos. I think he’s forgotten one thing — talent.
Bill Gekas is an artist born and living in Melbourne, Australia. A self taught photographer that learnt the technicals of photography using a 35mm film slr camera from the mid 90′s and switched to digital in 2005. His inspiration are the old master painters – e.g. Rembrandt, Vermeer, Raphael etc. and exactly this inspiration determines the style of his pictures substantially.
Mandy is a photographer living in Ramsey, Cambridgeshire (England). In April of 2010 she was awarded Winner of the Plant Portrait category of The International Garden Photographer of the Year 2010. Her work has appeared in Digital Camera Magazine and Digital SLR Photography. She has also written an article about texturing images for Digital Camera Magazine.
Marc Adamus is a landscape photographer based in Corvallis, Oregon. The visual drama and artistry of his photographs are born of a keen eye for the many moods of Nature and a life-long passion for the wilderness. This passion shines throughout Marc’s work and has attracted a wide audience around the world.
Alans black and white images are all taken using analogue cameras and this creates something really special; it gives them a certain je ne sais quoi that is missing from many of today’s digital images. Alan is a veteran of street photography. His experience in this area is reflected in his photos, as is his ability to use the short time frame to fully capture the photographic moment.
