Mikael is a 29 year-old Swedish photographer. His passion is landscape photography. In combination with his desire to travel and his love of nature, this has resulted in the creation of impressive shots. A recurring theme is the sea, with its ever-changing appearance. Mikael interprets it in a special way, incorporating it in his pictures and capturing the various moods. Thanks to his creativity and his skill in creating these fascinating images, sometimes in black and white, then again a play of alternating light and shadows in neutral and unobtrusive colors, and all these together create this impressive atmosphere in his photographs. It would not be fair to Mikael if one only considered his achievements in the field of photography. His portfolio is much more complex than that. In addition to the landscape scenes captured, one also some fascinating wildlife shots or portraits, photographs from the field of architecture or macros, to name just a few. What makes his animal photography exceptional to me is the fact that Mikael uses the local wildlife as a motif. He vividly illustrates thereby that it may well be worth one’s wile to go searching right outside the front door of one’s house, and it needs not always be the animals that one would not find in Europe.  It’s pays to just browse his portfolio; Mikael is characterized by his being multi-faceted without being boring. Special mention should be made of his involvement in social projects, which impressed me personally.
